April 29, 2007

US based personal computer maker Dell has announced that they are now offering their Latitude D420 and D620 notebooks with solid-state drives.
With this, they have joined Sony in offering notebook products with solid state drives. Sony has already launched their Vaio Type-G earlier this month.
Dell said that they are using the hard drives manufactured by SanDisk. Their products are being shipped with 1.8-inch 32GB SanDisk SSD and the company claims that these new generation of drives increases performance by as much as 23 percent and is three and a half times less likely to fail compared to regular hard disks.
Dell CTO Kevin Kettler added in a statement that the company is committed to enhancing their product range featuring these SanDisk SSD options.
